Radiology Certification Course
Share |

According to the state law, assistants are not allowed to take x-rays in a podiatric office unless they have taken a certification course.  To accomplish this, CPMA, Moore Medical Corporation, and Central Connecticut State University have developed this course offered for the podiatric assistant.  Moore Medical Corp. provided the sponsorship for the development of the course.

The Radiology Certification Course will consist of a classroom program. After the program, you will be ready to take the exam.   The exam will be given at the conclusion of the course and will take approximately 1 hour to complete.

A packet or material will be sent ahead of time to each registrant.  However, the material is for reference only.  Some of the information will be discussed in class while other sections will be for reference only.  The important information will be taught in class and the examination will be based on classroom instruction.  Do not use the packet of material as a textbook.  It is meant for reference only.

Prior to the course, attendees will receive a Podiatric Assistant Radioloy Office Training Requirements form (see below).  This is to certify that the podiatrist in the attendees office has trained employees on proper usage of the x-ray machine.  This form must be completed and signed prior to the course and be submitted to a CPMA representative at the time of the exam.  Course attendees are advised to please keep a copy of the form for their records and to bring a copy to the exam.

Attendees will not be allowed to take the exam unless accompanied by a signed P.A.R.O.T.R form.
